students photograph shared spaces, 2013 This publication entitled City presents works by photography students from four art academies in Israel: Hadassah College, Jerusalem; Minshar for Art, Tel Aviv; The Neri Bloomfield School for Design and Education, Haifa; and Sapir College, Sderot. Under the working title Mixed Cities students were introduced in a yearlong course (held during the academic year 2o12/2o13) to the historical aspects of the city where they study or a city nearby, the different narratives of its Arab and Jewish inhabitants, and the meeting points between the different communities in the cities: Beer Sheba, Haifa, Jaffa, and Jerusalem.
For the German non-profit organization forumZFD and in collaboration with the Israeli art academies, I initiated together with Noa Ben-Shalom the Mixed Cities project, which is a continuation of the project Image, Identity and Stereotypes, in order to create a platform for visual presence and encounter between different ethnic communities which are a part of the Israeli society.
